Surf Clothing
With any sport, you need to be wearing the right gear to help enhance your performance and keep you safe. Surfing is no different. And not all surfing conditions warrant the same clothing choices either. If you are surfing in cold temperatures, you'll want to wear a wetsuit or wettie, whereas if you are surfing in warmer water during the summer, you may feel comfortable surfing in board shorts and a rash shirt. Above all, your clothes should not restrict your movement in any way. If they are restrictive, you could feel muscle strain afterwards.
Wetsuits
Wetsuits are made from neoprene, a synthetic material. They work by trapping a thin layer of water close to your body which is heated by your own body heat. The most important thing to remember when buying a wetsuit is that it must fit very snugly in order to be effective, and comfortable.
If you find wearing a wetsuit that's a little uncomfortable you can wear a rash vest underneath to keep the wetsuit seams from rubbing.
In very cold climates you should not only wear a wetsuit but wetsuit boots, gloves and a hood or helmet which will help you retain your body heat.
On the sand
Make sure that when you go surfing you bring clothes to change into after, or between surfing sessions. A hat, sunglasses and a waterproof high SPF sunscreen is a must. The time can get away from you when you're at the beach or out surfing. Don't forget to re-apply your sunscreen.
Above all you want to be comfortable and able to move effortlessly while surfing. So make sure you invest in the right clothing to keep you warm, comfortable and safe while you ride the waves!

"We’ve forgotten what it’s like to be able to drink water from a tap, flick on a TV, or go to the refrigerator for some cold eats. But we traded all of that willingly for things we’d never seen or done before, and imagined were there."
